Fri, Jan. 19, 2007 - Archdiocese realignment announcement made. The Archdiocese of New York announced that several parishes will "remain under ongoing study."

The Church of St. Mary, St. Francis of Assisi, Our Lady of Esperanza in Manhattan, and Assumption parish in Tuckahoe are "Still Under Review" according to a document released announcing the latest part of the realignment process.

Please pray for Bishop Sullivan and the members of the Archdiocesan Realignment Committee as they continue
their review of our parish.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers
and for the hard work done with our
Parish appeal to the Archdiocese.

Your commitment is still needed.

Pray

Prayer is needed, before anything else. We should all offer
prayers to Mary, the Mother of God, Blessed Theresa of Calcutta, Pope John Paul the Great, Terence Cardinal Cooke, and to our own personal saints. Please seek their intercession through your daily prayers.

We ask that you continue to pray for our Parish, and for the members of the Archdiocesan Realignment Committe headed
by Bishop Dennis Sullivan.

Write

Please immediately write to any or all of the representatives of the Catholic Church listed below.

Letters should be personal, thoughtful, and polite. Letters should discuss the personal reasons why you attend Mass and other functions at St. Mary, the positive influence of St. Mary in the community, and why your church should remain open.

Each letter sent is an indication of support for the Church of St. Mary. You may, of course, write more than once. Please send copies of all letters/e-mail to the Rectory.

Click the link above to open a new e-mail with a subject line of Church of St. Mary - Appeal. Then write your own personal message to Pope Benedict encouraging him to support the Church of St. Mary in our appeal of the Archdiocese decision. If enough
e-mail reaches Rome with the same subject, perhaps they will be noticed and brought to the Holy Father's attention.
