Message From Father Bill: Our entrance way includes three Sacramental Symbols. The symbols closest to the stairs leading to the front door of the Church depict the Baptismal Shell of Baptism and the Holy Spirit of Confirmation. The Round Symbol and Cross depict our Central Sacrament of the Eucharist. All three Sacraments connect with our Church Community

One Minute Meditation Prayer Tip from St. Simeon Sit alone and in silence. Lower your head, shut your eyes, breathe gently, and imagine yourself looking into your own heart. As you breathe in say, "Lord Jesus Christ," and as you breathe out say, "have mercy on me." Five ways to refresh your prayer life 1. Pray a new way Experience practices you dont already use, like meditating with a centering prayer, praying out loud, or focusing on an icon. Then stick with the one that satisfies you the most. 2. Keep a prayer journal Start by recording your prayer intentions and listing the people for whom you want to pray. Then write down feelings and impressions resulting from your prayer time. Glance at your journal throughout the day for inspiration. 3. Share a prayer Find a partner and pray together. Listening to someone else can give you a new perspective. 4. Pick a person Choose someone you read about in the paper and pray for them for a whole week. Choose someone the next week. Even public figures like the Pope or the President can use our prayers. 5. Pray for a change Choose a behavior you are struggling to overcome, for example bad language, envy or smoking, and pray about it for 30 days. |
